The Devil Inside: A Scholarly Review
“Connect the Cut… Connect the cuts… Connect the cuts”
There are many things that i look for in an Occult themed movie. Especially when its about the topic that I spent years in scholarly pursuit of Which is that of Demonic Possession. Before it came out the trailer alone peaked my interest. I said to myself. Oh boy a new movie on the Possession Genre. I guess there would be more data to add from movies such as the Last Exorcism, Paranormal Activity, And of course the Godfather of them all.. The Exorcist.
However when this movie came out. I was saddened to see that it got a poor review with viewers and NEARLY didn’t watch it because of that.. Alas I am glad that I did. because From my professional opinion this movie gives great depth about a topic essential but not fully covered in books about the Possession and Exorcism. THe Topic was that about Demonic Transference or what I call “Being touched by evil”
Demonic Transferenceis the idea that during a possession by a demon, the Evil of said demon can infect those within the vicinity. And thus spread its possession and influence into people including but not limited to the exorcist themselves (If they are not of strong enough faith or if they are harboring sin) and anyone present assisting the exorcist.
Furthermore we are given a glimpse of the power demonically possessed people have to “Smell” the sins of others. In the case of this movie the possessed was able to see the secrets and sins of all who would come to see her as if she possessed some supernatural form of telepathy
In my upcoming book Defensive Occultism I mention that those taking part in a exorcism have a chance of being corrupted and infected by a demonic entity if it is powerful enough. Yes it has been recorded that Groups of People involved in a persons possessed life have known to have felt the corruption of the possessing entity especially if they are not living up to the criteria of pious living that the Catholic Clergy recommended of all their exorcists.
This movie however showed the result of that. It showed (SPOILER ALERT) two over zealous priest who chose to perform exorcisms without the sanction of the Church itself. Now yes it is true that the red tape within the Church stretches from here to kingdom come. And that it should not be an excuse not to help souls in need. However it is slightly hinted that this rule is set in place more for the safety of others than for the saving of face of the church and through this movie we are shown the consequence if an exorcism it attempted haphazardly by both Priests and Lay (wo)men who are not ready for the danger that lurks within.
Over all this movie is a warning that Exorcisms are DANGEROUS. Its no just about pulling about a bible and over zealously sayings Amen’s and Praise the Lords, No its more like being trapped in a room, with a rabid wild animal that is on steroids and is sick with Ebola. the chances you have of getting, hurt, Sick, or infected by its evil are Infinitely high. And for those people out there who think they can take the devil one on one via an exorcism I suggest they take a look at this movie and re-evaluate that claim
Bad movie? No. Dizzying Cinematography? Yes.. Scary. YES indeed. However I guess those who saw this movie were more of disturbed by one scene (Hell I surely was) than let down as movie viewers. Over all I find this movie to be a superb take on the Dangers of attempting exorcism by the unprepared.

A Spirits Awakening Excerpt: Ones Job and Family
Another question so frequently asked when the Awakening HappensSo are you saying I have to quit my job? Or Leave my Family???
Of course not… Family is one of the most fundamental sources of love within this world, and in most cases, it is due to family that one can achieve greater amounts of personal growth that anywhere else.
As for quitting your job.. Let us ask you this?
Are you growing?? Are you becoming the YOU that you envision yourself to be? Does your job define you? Or are you simply trapped within what most would call a proverbial Rat race? If you feel that you are stuck, and bound by a job that steals more and more of your soul with each day that passes, then I suggest you clearly re-evaluate your life and the job you are within.
However if your work. Brings out the best it in, brings a smile to your face, is the kind of job that you attend early and leave late due to the sheer joy I it brings to you then let me be the first to tell you it’s not a job you have.. But a calling! For in such kinds of vocations money is not the end goal of your hard work but instead the fulfillment that comes from doing what you do. And that I would say can bring out the best in you and in those you reach in this world.

Excerpt: from A Spirits Awakening
One question we ask ourselves during the awakening process is….
“How come all of a sudden I no longer want to be with the friends I’m so used to.”
Ahh this is one of the scariest parts of the awakening process. Which I will call The outgrowing phase. At this point, your soul when it starts awakening will starting sifting through many things in your life, inclusive of your social circles. You begin to ask yourself if the place your living in, the people you associate with, the circles you belong in are in fact still relevant in your life..
I can see why this is scary, no one wants to give up friendships and relationships that are valid and important to them. However my promise to you this this. Of all the friendships, relationships and things that you presently covet, those that are indeed relevant in your souls growth will in fact KEEP up with your evolution. They will grow as you do, and the learning and awakening process will be shared together
Karmic links will be forged, friendships will be turned into soul connections, Interests will turn into Passions, and everything that remains will be upgraded and pulled to a New more intense level..
While everything that doesn’t remain, you will eventually look back and simply wish the best upon while treasuring the significance it played in your life previously. You will thank the universe for the opportunity you had to enjoy these attachment but you will eventually accept that you have outgrown them.
IN other words.. you will only lose what is not relevant to your souls growth.

Spiritual Purging
For all of you into the practices of the Esoteric, There may come a time in your life that you are forced to undergo what is called “Spiritual Purging”Many are unfamiliar what this is, and many thing that the practice of the arcane is but a rose with no thorns. However it is during this time that you realize how wrong you were..
It is known as many things depending on which Esoteric culture you belong, Some Call it personal cleansing, others and for those with more prolonged Purging processes it is known as the Dark Night of the Soul, regardless of what you call it though the result it the same.. PAIN.
But this is not pain for pains sake, this is more of spiritual growing pains that are necessary to help us reach the next stage of our Spiritual Evolution. The most common feeling is one of dread, depression and irritability. You feel as if all the light and happiness in this world have been drained from you and that the things you used to take solace in and that used to bring a sparkle to your eye will quickly lose its luster..
However this experience is akin to looking at the way a child loses interest in their toys as they grow older.. Its not that you are unhappy but that you persona has outgrown them. but in this case the things that you outgrow are in fact things that have slowed down your spiritual evolution. Such as Old thought patterns, ideologies, relationships and related things.the only solace that you are given is that by undergoing these pains, you are growing and you are on the right track. Yes some people will shirink into depression and turn to vice such as drink and drugs to get through this painful peroid. But such people are missing out on the quintessential lesson of why this is happening.
The pain is necessary. It is necessary to bring out the best you that you can be. And it is only through the forge of a roaring flame that the sword is tempered, and so does this process temper the soul..
When this is happening, do not fight the pain, but give into it and understand that un-needed elements are being removed from your life. What do you need to let go of? And what do you need to make room for in your life.
“Fate rarely calls us at a time of our choosing” and when this is happening to you chances are your what I like to call “Up for Promotion” in The Army of the Divine. And with such a promotion more of everything comes your way :)
Embrace this experience for in the end it brings out who you really are within and not who your Ego makes you think your meant to be
